MALVERN Town cruised to pre-season victory at Bishops Cleeve in their latest match ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Playing in three 30-minute periods, Malvern were 5-0 up after 2/3 of the contest thanks to goals from Brooke Taylor, Alice Meadows, Lucia Meigh, Becky Evans and Leah Baker.
The hosts did pull three goals back in the final third of the match, but Malvern had taken their foot off the gas by this point and were never in and threat to lose the game.
It was a slow start from the visitors but they eventually woke up after 10 minutes and after being played in by Evans, Taylor applied the finishing touches to put Malvern 1-0 up.
The woodwork twice came to the rescue of Cleeve in the following minutes as both Taylor and Baker had shots come crashing back off the post.
Their second did soon arrive, however, as Taylor's good run was finished off by Meadows from close range.
It was 3-0 after 25 minutes when Saff Bowell and Meigh linked up for the latter to find the back of the net.
The game hit a lull in the second 30-minute period, with neither side able to create anything worthy of note until the closing ten minutes when both Evans and Baker score to make it 5-0.
Cleeve stepped up their game in the closing stages though and scored three goals to give Malvern something to think about moving forward.
