MALVERN Town were handed a big boost ahead of the new season after two key players agreed to another year at the club.
Top goalscorer Harry Clark and captain Louis Loader committed to the club for another year as Lee Hooper and Stephen Cleal look to build their squad for the 2021/23 campaign.
But, on the flip side, there was the disappointing news that young player of the season Nathan Chowns-Higgs has decided to move on due to being unable to travel to and from university in Birmingham.
There was a new signing also revealed on Friday afternoon as Evesham United's Jack Horrell completed a move to The Hillsiders.
The stylish central midfielder joined Evesham in 2019/2020 and counts Slimbridge, Cirencester Town, Bishops Cleeve and Brimscombe & Thrupp amongst his former clubs.
“We aren’t looking to add large numbers of new faces to the squad, but what we are searching for is the right players with the right experience and character,” said Stephen Cleal.
“Jack ticks all of these boxes; I had the pleasure of managing him in over 80 games at Bishop’s Cleeve and his quality really shone through then.
“I can’t wait to start working with him again. He is a midfielder who has the ability to pick a pass and also has great set-piece delivery.
“The lad has over 100 games at Step 4 level under his belt and was part of my Cleeve side that equalled the club’s highest-ever finish at that level.
“He will be a fantastic addition to our squad and I am sure our supporters will enjoy the quality that he will bring to our team.”
