MALVERN Town are awaiting on news from the Football Association to discover who and where they will play in a promotion-relegation play-off match this weekend.
Having come second in the Hellenic League Premier, The Hillsiders guaranteed a play-off match to secure promotion, which is scheduled to take place this weekend.
But they are still yet to learn whether they will have to play one or not, as there remains a slim chance they will gain automatic promotion due to their points per game ratio and other teams at Step 5 failing to meet guidelines regarding their home grounds.
However, it seems most likely that they will face either Bristol Manor Farm (third bottom in the Southern League Division One South) or Highworth Town (third bottom in the Southern League Division One South) for a chance to secure promotion.
The current format at Step 5 means that teams coming second play a one-off match with a side in the relegation places in the level above, Step 4, with either the Step 5 team gaining promotion or the Step 4 side winning and keeping their place.
But with only 72 hours to go until the Saturday date set for these matches, teams still do not know who they will be facing.
An announcement is expected at around 7PM on Wednesday April 26.
