Head coach Ieuan Mustow was impressed with his side's ability to bounce back as Malvern responded to their thumping defeat at Walsall the week before to record a narrow win over Whitchurch on Saturday.
Malvern did not score a point in the 42-0 defeat at Walsall but drastically improved last weekend to edge a tight 19-12 win over Whitchurch at Spring Lane.
"We asked for a response from the lads both in training and in the game and I thought they showed that in abundance," he said.
"The heart and character showed to bounce back from a pretty painful loss at Walsall was impressive.
"We had a lot of areas to work on from that defeat and I am pleased what a good job we did of that.
"We kept our discipline when things were going against us so I am really happy. We are beginning to create an atmosphere around the group that is going to pay dividends going forward.
"There is a real energy within the club at the moment. The younger players are coming through and adding a real enthusiasm and everyone is buying into what we are trying to do."
The win sees Malvern move up above last weekend's opponents Whitchurch ahead of Saturday's clash with Wolverhampton at Spring Lane (3PM kick-off).
