COLTS rugby players from Ledbury, Droitwich, Bromyard, Bredon, Bromsgrove, Worcester and Malvern combined on Tuesday night to take part in the Houghton Harries County Game at Birmingham & Solihull RFC.
Six members of the Malvern Colts were involved - Mason Campbell, Ben Gaubert, James Grainger, Kieran Robins, Harris Cullen and Alex Jones - as the visitors stormed to victory.
The try scorers on the day for H+W Colts were: Ben Gaubert, James Grainger (2), Henry Morgan, Ollie Marfell, Harry Davies (2) and Tanwa Hallen.
Dan Furber kicked two conversions and James Grainger three.
Coach Gareth Richards (Malvern) was immensely pleased with the team's display: "The players didn't panic when they went behind, the young squad showed real character, each player gave an outstanding display of what their club coaches have taught them over the years.
"The second half display was class, considering that as a squad they have only trained once together"
Ian Blanche Secretary HWRFU commented: "The standard of County Colts rugby improves every year, this is testament to the commitment and dedication from so many volunteers and coaches at our local rugby clubs."
