This Sunday, starting at 1.30 pm, Malvern RFC will be hosting the Midlands South West Region, Ladies Touch Rugby Tournament.
Two teams from Malvern, two from Bredon and teams from Luctonians, Berry Hill, Pershore and Ledbury are taking part.
Director of Rugby Rob Cook said, “This is an exciting time for the club. Our ambition in growing the game for ladies and girls at the club is very much underway, we now have over 40 youth and adult ladies signed on and we will continue to do all we can to ensure we support ladies’ rugby.”
“Hosting this tournament shows how ambitious the club is, it also is a recognition of the efforts our ladies have made to be the best they can be. Training has taken place every Wednesday at 7 pm at the club, throughout the winter. It now continues through the summer. If you have experience or are a complete beginner please come along to training.”Touch Rugby is a very social sport and it’s great for maintaining or improving fitness as well as building friendships.”
Entry to watch the tournament is free and the club welcomes anyone wanting to watch to come along. Be sure to say hello on Sunday if you may wish to join the ladies’ touch team.
