It was a weekend of mixed fortunes for Malvern RFC, with the firsts suffering a second consecutive defeat.
Away at Crewe and Nantwich, the first XV were hoping to bounce back from a disappointing loss to Wolverhampton and reignite their title charge.
Despite taking the lead early on thanks to a penalty, Malvern went into the break 14-10 down, with the hosts' Josh McShane scoring twice.
Malvern were able to take the lead after halftime before tries from Crewe and Nantwich's Tom Manaton and Sammy Williams gave the home side all the points.
The result sees Malvern drop from third to fifth in the Regional 2 West Midlands.
It was a more fruitful weekend for the seconds who came out on top in a close-fought contest with Stourport which finished 24-22 thanks to a last-minute gasp try.
There was also a return to action for the third team on Friday night, who put in a winning performance under the lights at Bromyard.
With four sets of fathers and sons in the line-up, Malvern were able to come away 19-12 victors.
