THE Poolbrook derby saw Rangers beat Panthers 7-3 in Paperstation Malvern League Division Two.
Richard Cullis, Nick Haggar and Alasdair Maxwell- Stewart all won two singles with Cullis and Maxwell- Stewart taking the doubles for Rangers.
But Panthers picked up a point as Robert Weston won two and Dave Bradley one in the singles.
Over the course of the evening, six sets went to four games and two of them to five, both in favour of Panthers.
YMCA Vulcans won all but one of their sets against CSSC Nomads in straight games with the exception being Geoff Davies.
He won the first game of the night but lost in four before John Cawthra, Beryl Shammon and Richard Bennett completed the 10-0 whitewash for Vulcans.
Paul Lythgoe won two singles for Devils and Pete Harding another one, while together they claimed a victory in the doubles against Ripple.
But Pete Nash, Peter Quy and Paul Davies all won two for Ripple, who triumphed 6-4 in another close evening with seven sets needing extra games and two of them going to five.
Steve Mulka was in top form for X-Police in a 6-4 success over Manor Park Crackpots, winning all his singles games and the doubles with Alan Preece, who contributed two victories to their score.
Stephen Lindner claimed two for Crackpots, while Will Jones and Ed Palmer took one each.
