HANLEY Swan edged a 2-1 win over Southside in Cheltenham Association League Division Two.
The young visitors started strongly and had the best of the early chances before Hanley settled and went close through Andy Rogers and Cathal McTernan.
They started the second period with more urgency and were rewarded when James Beale broke through to score a fine goal.
Hanley started to control the game with Matt Atkinson bossing the midfield and his free-kick was spilled by the keeper for Adam Webb to walk the ball into the net.
The hosts were caught out by a late goal but saw out the final 10 minutes and head to RSG tomorrow (3pm).
Meanwhile, Upton Town went down 6-1 at Churchdown Panthers at the same level and Welland fell 4-0 at Priors in Division Four.
Malvern Hills’ Luke Carter scored all the goals as they cruised to a 4-2 victory over Katy O’Ryans in Worcester and District League Saturday Division Two.
The first came after Mark Edmunds forced an error from the keeper, leaving Carter with an open goal.
Despite an equaliser, Carter made it 2-1 by running onto a through-ball and firing past the keeper. Rob Tyler provided the assist for the next goal with a ball over the top and Carter beat four defenders before scoring the fourth from 12 yards.
In Sunday Division One, there was a hat-trick for Malvern Radar’s Lee Mason as his team crushed Hallow Village 6-0.
Dan Stone hit a treble in Malvern Rangers’ 3-1 win at Blue Star in Division Two.
