MALVERN Town squandered too many chances as they slipped to a 1-0 West- Midlands League Premier Division defeat at Bartley Green.

Town created three good opportunities in the firsthalf.

In the 15th minute, Dave Reynolds fed Lee Hooper who crossed to Louis Loader but his header fell into the arms of Bartley Green’s keeper Mark Gayle.

Lee Hooper sent over a 35th-minute cross to Joe Leighton but he headed over the crossbar.

Just before the break, Hooper, seeing the keeper off his line, shot from more than 35 yards but Gayle ran back and prevented a goal.

Malvern thought they had broken the deadlock in the 60th minute when a left-wing cross found Hooper whose glancing header flew into the net. However, the assistant referee flagged for offside.

But, within two minutes, they were a goal down. A long ball was played into Malvern’s defence and Tim Clark attempted to backhead it to Ian Hill in the Malvern goal, but it fell to Courtney Charles to score.

Malvern did not give up and Hooper found Josh Lloyd who headed just over.

Then they got the ball into the net again but Ed Lyons was adjudged offside.

On Tuesday, Town drew 1-1 at home to Bewdley Town in their latest league clash.

􀁥 Malvern Radar’s impressive start to the Worcester League Sunday Division One season continued with a convincing win at Pitchcroft.

Following a lethargic start, Radar took the lead after 15 minutes from the penalty spot with Jack Kyte stepped up to score.

Radar had a number of great chances to increase their lead but it was not until the 50th minute that Louis Loader spotted the keeper off his line and judged his shot to perfection from 35 yards.

It was soon 3-0 following a slick passing move which saw Jamie Caffull tapping in.

The scoring was completed with 10 minutes left when youngster Jack MacKintosh weaved his way into the area before setting up Loader for the fourth.
