WELLAND Juniors beat Warndon Village Wildcats 5-1 in their opening Mercian Festival League Girls Under 13 game of the season.
Olivia Baker-Law fired Welland ahead early on and Megan Jones doubled the lead shortly after. Warndon pulled a goal back and were on form until half-time.
After the break, Jones added a third goal. Then a long clearance by keeper Abby Senior found Jones who completed her hat-trick.
Lucy Walton capped a fine performance with a fifth goal late on.
Leigh and Bransford Orient turned in an impressive performance in their first Mercian League Under Nine Division Two game, defeating St John’s Colts 7-1.
The score was goalless at halftime but Ellis Jones gave Orient the lead and further goals followed from Tobey Jones (2) Max Rice and Harry Egan.
St John’s hit back to score but further goals from Max Rice and Josh Hutersall rounded off a dominant display.
