GOALS from Cathal Mc- Ternan and James Beale gave Hanley Swan a 2-1 victory at Barometrics Reserves in Cheltenham League Division Two.
Swan could have gone behind early on except for some good saves from goalkeeper Nick Rogers.
Having survived the early onslaught, Hanley settled and McTernan scored following a cross from the hard-working Beale.
A great pass from Andrew Smith set Beale up to fire in a second.
McTernan nearly made it three, crashing the ball off the underside of the crossbar, before the hosts pulled one back to make it 2-1 at half-time.
Hanley started the second- half looking to consolidate their lead but a number of injuries meant unplanned positional changes but Swan hung on for the victory.
Anchor Falcons came crashing back to earth following their opening day win, with a crushing 5-1 home defeat against Hornets in the Worcester League Sunday Division Two.
Things started badly for the Falcons when they failed to clear a routine punt downfield which fell to a Hornets player who scored from 20 yards.
Falcons had most of the play in the first-half but failed to take chances and fell further behind to go in 2-0 down at half-time.
They went further behind at the start of the second-half before Sam McDowell pulled a goal back. Falcons failed to capitalise on this, however, and conceded two more sloppy goals.
Malvern Hills entertained Perrywood in their first Worcester League Saturday Division Two home clash, winning 1-0.
Scott Rogers scored the only goal when Craig Tommey fed the former to round the keeper.
Malvern should have increased their lead but good goalkeeping denied Dan Tedds and Anthony Orgee.
