MALVERN Joggers were well represented at the annual Crowle 10k race where members of the club’s ladies’ section finished high up the ranks in both the junior and senior events.
The MJ Juniors ran in both the quarter and full mile races.
The girls did particularly well with Ellen Wikeley crossing the line as first girl and Ellen Staniforth coming home third girl.
More than 20 MJ Juniors took part in their first official race as part of the local running club.
The senior members of the Joggers were equally well represented in the 10k road race. Vikki Sivertsen was the first Malvern Jogger to cross the line in an impressive 41 minutes, nine seconds, placing her as third woman overall.
She said: “Crowle is a fantastic local race and we were pleased to turn out in numbers to support the 10th anniversary of the race.
“I want to thank the local community for organising such a great event. I also want to pay tribute to our MJ Juniors who ran with such determination and enjoyed every minute.”
The first male Malvern Jogger to cross the line was Phil Jackson, who ran the course in 41.50.
Malvern Joggers meet every Wednesday at various locations around the Malvern Hills. The MJ Juniors meet on Sunday mornings, usually at Malvern St James sports field.
