WORCESTER City’s St Georges Lane Stadium hosted Leigh and Bransford Badgers Football Club’s end-ofseason presentation fun day.
The event proved a huge success for the Mercian League outfit, with an estimated 600 visitors attending throughout the day to help swell club coffers.
Badgers invited Newtown Sports, Kempsey Colts, Oldbury Park Tigers, Welland Juniors and Malvern Town Wanderers among other clubs for exhibition matches with around 350 youngsters participating in the event. In the adults’ annual match, the chairman’s XI beat the vicechairman’s XI 4-0 to lift the President’s Cup.
Club chairman Pat Lewis said: “It was a fantastic day. We had good weather, a fantastic venue, a great turnout, and some wonderful entertainment, which saw all records broken on previous events.
“Worcester City deserve full acknowledgement for their community-minded approach in allowing us use of their stadium.
“In addition, our thanks go to everyone who helped, supported and participated in making this our best event ever.”
