YOUNG Leigh and Bransford Badgers starlet Jaz Byers will play for League Two outfit Cheltenham Town’s under 13s academy next season.
The 12-year-old striker spent time on trial with the Robins and impressed enough to earn a 12-month contract.
Having played for the Mercian Festival Junior League club’s Spurs squad since joining them as a five-yearold, he banged in the goals to help gain numerous honours.
Club senior coach Bosko Medakovic said: “Jaz has proven himself to be a fine young footballer and we are very sad to lose his services yet at the same time delighted that Cheltenham have offered him a deal.
“We wish him well in his progress and development.”
