TEENAGE Malvern canoe slalom racer Callie Halliday has clinched a place in the England senior team after battling back from surgery.
The 18-year-old former junior international will represent England throughout 2012 as the youngest women’s C1 competitor in the team.
Halliday’s winter training is getting back on track after four weeks out due to an emergency operation to remove her appendix in December.
She is working to get back to full fitness before her competitive season starts in March with visits to north Wales, Shepperton in Surrey, Nottingham, Cardiff and Grandtully in Scotland.
Halliday has been invited to train with some of the Italian team on their home patch and is one of the Olympic Games makers at the canoe slalom.
