TWO teams from The Worcestershire club were eliminated from county competitions.
The over 55s lost 3-0 at Gay Hill in the Kidderminster Cup Foursomes, while both the ‘A’ and ‘B’ sides lost in the Droitwich Shield Foursomes.
The ‘A’ team of David Marshall, Peter Lupino, Philip Shurmer, Steven Lane, Paul Yorke and Mark Read lost 2½-½ to Cleobury Mortimer. Shurmer and Lane were undefeated.
At home, the ‘B’ side lost 2-1 to a strong Kings Norton ‘A’ outfit.
Alan Watts and Dave Harding lost the top match before McCabe and Jason Allies levelled matters.
Nick Smith and Andy Dunster were defeated on the 18th green by a Kings Norton birdie.
Breezy but dry conditions tested a full field in a four-ball alliance.
The winners with 85 points were Paul Ford (8), Phil Hirons (13), Paul Wakeley (12) and Read (5).
Three points behind were Dunster (5), Allies (5), Smith (5) and Shurmer (2).
