IMPROVING Bromyard Town were disappointed with a draw at Stafford Town following a fine West Midlands League Premier Division display.
They were ahead for much of the game only to be denied by an equaliser in the dying seconds.
With a gale-force wind blowing around the small pitch, Bromyard decided to play with the conditions and were soon camped in the home half.
The Stafford keeper saved well from Ben Evans, Rob Woodward and captain Joe Wood.
Bromyard took the lead on 10 minutes when Knile Taylor swivelled to fire into the bottom corner of the net.
Nick Cox added a second on 20 minutes when his low effort crept past the keeper.
After a goalmouth scramble, Stafford pulled a goal back five minutes before half-time with a stunning 20-yard strike from their substitute.
With the wind having a major influence, Stafford looked for the leveller but found defenders Josh Stafford and Jamie Saunston in outstanding form along with busy keeper Dan Hollings.
With five men across the Bromyard midfield standing firm, it looked as if they were about to record their first win of the new year.
But a foul was awarded to Stafford on the corner of the box and the resulting free-kick gave Stafford a share of the spoils with the keeper unsighted
