LEDBURY Town chairman Andy Kibble has called on the town to show their support as the club look forward to two cup finals to end their season.

The New Street side face Pegasus Reserves in the final of the Hereford Journal Trophy on Tuesday at Westfield’s allpay.park (ko 7.30pm).

They have also secured a further final place on May 6 when they will play Martley or Bromyard Town in the Worcestershire Royal Infirmary Cup showpiece at New Street (6.30pm).

Ledbury booked their spot in the final with a comprehensive 12-0 victory over Malvern Town Reserves earlier this month.

Now Kibble has called on the club’s fans to come out in force and support his side, firstly for the Journal Trophy clash.

Town’s Herefordshire League Premier Division clash at Holme Lacy on Saturday was postponed after the hosts failed to secure a referee. Third-placed Ledbury have no game over the weekend.

Kibble also believes the double pursuit of silverware is the perfect end to a season which started in turbulent fashion with their resignation from the West Midlands League Premier Division.

He said: “Everybody is very positive.

“My philosophy from the start was for the club to be up-front, honest and transparent. We wanted success on and off the pitch. It’s not just about the football, it’s about having solid foundations. To end this season with two cup finals is fabulous. We’re already planning for next season.

“We want the people of the town to come out in support for Ledbury at the cup finals.

“We want to come home from Westfields hopefully with the trophy.”

Ledbury will be taking a free supporters’ coach to allpay.park for the trophy final next Tuesday.

It will depart from the New Street ground at 5.30pm. To book a place, call the club on (01531) 631463.

Ledbury will stage an open day at New Street from noon on Sunday to mark the official opening of their refurbished clubhouse.

Attractions include a match between Ledbury Town’s first team and ladies side and an appearance by the town’s Mayor.
