MANOR Park Tennis Club hosted the Aegon 14U County Cup Girls’ Group ‘E’ over three days with some hard-fought matches, particularly in the doubles.
Each contest consisted of four singles and two doubles matches.
Surrey girls were the winners of the group with South Wales runners-up. Surrey now go through to the final rounds of the event, to be held in Nottingham in two weeks’ time. Surrey defeated South Wales 6-0 in the final, Oxfordshire 6-0 and Gloucestershire 4-2.
Gloucestershire drew with Somerset 3-3 and beat Gloucestershire 5-1, South Wales defeated Somerset 6-0 and Bedfordshire 6-0, Oxfordshire toppled Bedfordshire 4-2and Somerset got past Bedforshire 5-1.
It was a busy weekend at the club as the Aegon 8U Manor Park team of Jacob Perry, Louis Fawcett, Harry Cox and Reece Taylor-Locke, had their first fixture against Pershore which they narrowly lost.
