LEIGH & Bransford Badgers u11s Spurs player, Ross Grimshaw, has landed himself a deal with npower League Two side Cheltenham Town.
The talented young goalkeeper has been playing for the Robins at u12s level this season, since joining them at u8s having been recommended for trials by his local club.
Having now progressed from mini-soccer age, Grimshaw has been offered terms by the Whaddon Road club to continue playing for them at youth level next season.
However, this means that he will no longer be available to play for the Badgers.
Badgers senior coach Bosko Medakovic said: “We are absolutely delighted to see Ross become the first Badgers player to progress directly on to a football league club.
“Having been with our club since he was four-years-old, we have seen him develop into a promising young goalkeeper.
“Whilst we will be sorry to lose him, we acknowledge his potential and are proud to have had him as a member at our club. We certainly wish him well.”
The Badgers will be looking to replace Ross next season at u12s level and any budding keepers, along with any other youngsters who would like to play football are asked to quickly contact Bosko on (01886) 833428 or go to lbbfc.co.uk.
