THE Manor Park Junior Open Doubles Tournament, held on Sunday, attracted entrants from as far away as Warwick.
This highly successful event was held on the eve of the prestigious Grade 3 Bottlegreen Elderflower Still Malvern Junior Open Tournament which runs this week and is a major national tournament.
Manor Park was delighted to offer a doubles event at which entrants could find form for the Malvern Open.
Ten Manor Park members participated and Ben Marks and Richard Tuck won the U16 boys, with runners-up Droitwich pair Tom Rees and Michael Langston.
Ryan Hardiman partnered by Littleton's James Excell were third and Stephen Coffey with Bromsgrove's Jonathan Southam came fourth.
Worcester pair Michael Shipley and Ilia Rasovic won the U14 boys. Runners-up were Greg Leigh-Jones and James Nolan from Bromsgrove and third, Joseph Rowse Thomas and Emyr Pepperell from Ross-on-Wye.
Katherine Panton-Kent and Worcester's Steffi Rei Varias won the U14 girls'. Runners-up were Ella Guest and Mary Fleming.
The U12 girls' trophy was won by Katherine Smedley and Kate Forrester of Bromsgrove, runners-up were Katherine Stokes and Bromsgrove's Anna Southam.
It is hoped to hold a similar tournament next year.
