CLEAR winners of the annual John & Annie Hofton Memorial competition, played at Sapey Golf Club on Sunday, with 131 points were Ian Champken, Chris Cale, Neil Holbrow and Gerald Cushion.
Runners-up, five points behind on 126 points, were Cliff Knock, Joe Morley, Chris Jardine and Mark Gwynn. In third place, with 125 points were C Roberts, A Roberts, D Price and G Price. Three teams tied for third place on 124 points, D Lloyd, K Willis, A Berry and R Champken, G Page-Jones, W Nesbitt, P Broadrick and B Kendall and A Weaver, A Brooks, G Derry and G McBride.
In the July month-end Stableford medal played on Saturday, the first three division one players had to be separated on countback, all scoring 45 points.
The winner was Joe Morley (14 handicap), second was Gordon Glover (9) and third Andrew Mogg (11).
In division two, 16-handicapper Alistair McLeish took first place with 44 points, Albie Weaver (16) was second with 42 points, on countback from Sydney Skinner (15), also 42 points.
