Bosbury 264-7, Goodrich II 153 all out.

HAVING lost the toss in this Marches League Division Two clash, the home side were surprised to have been put into bat at the Bosbury Oval.

Regular Bosbury openers Dave Spiller and Simon Probyn put on 40 for the first wicket before Spiller was trapped lbw for 13. Luke Ledbury soon hit several boundaries on his way to a 28-ball half-century.

Probyn was caught spectacularly on the boundary in the 23rd over with the score on 98.

Chris Stokes and Ledbury set about the flagging Goodrich seam attack.

Ledbury fell for 58 which included 12 fours and a six.

Two more quick wickets for Norm Dunsford in his first and second overs in senior cricket saw the home side to 164-5.

However, opening bowler Mark Wadley had other ideas as he came in and scored 18 out of a partnership of 42 with Stokes and they passed the 200 barrier in the 39th over.

Shortly after Wadley was done by the guile and flight of leg spinner Richard Hope and was bowled.

Jon Owen came in for the last five overs and he and Stokes put on 56 before Owen was bowled off the final ball of the innings.

The reply got off to a terrible start with Goodrich reduced to 15-3.

However, skipper Tony Beddard and Dermot Austin each scored eight boundaries apiece before Beddard was bowled by Probyn for 45.

Ledbury returned to the attack and took his seventh wicket of the season.

The Goodrich tail was cleaned up by Peter Blake, Wadley and Owen.
