CATH Francis bounced back to form after an inauspicious start to the summer when she followed up her win in the Division One stableford.

She scored a superb nett 72 in atrocious weather conditions in the closed meeting to capture the Members Cup at Worcestershire Golf Club’s Ladies’ section.

Ursula Pearson was second with Marina Marling and Laura Speers clinching the top spots in Division Two.

Club champion Cathy Harris won the best gross shooting 79 and she also won the Hollins Putting Cup with 29, two better than Judy Vincent.

In the stableford, Pat Rose finished second behind Francis while Jane Poynder pipped Davina Taylor on count-back in Division Two.

The scratch team opened their campaign in style, romping to a 5-0 victory over the Derbyshire club, Chevin, with Harris, Pearson, Francis, Chris Urry and Maggie Wilson all winning.

Marcia Macfarlane and Alex Dunster are through to the regional round of the ping four ball-better-ball event after registering a hugely impressive 43 points in the qualifying competition.
