BOSBURY picked up their first Marches League win of the season at Talgarth by six wickets thanks to an unbeaten 95 off 95 balls from Dave Spiller.
Winning the toss and inserting the hosts, Jon Owen’s side had Simon Probyn to thank for an excellent spell of seam bowling with figures of 5-31 as Talgarth ended on 141 all out.
Bosbury openers Probyn and Spiller set about chasing the Talgarth total. Probyn fell to a catch with the score on 18. Luke Ledbury followed next over, lbw to L Pugh for a duck.
Then Chris Stokes played defensively for 21 balls before mis-timing a cover drive on his 22nd to give an easy catch in Robinson’s first over. With the score on 38-3, George Abbey joined Spiller and they steadily rebuilt the innings. Spiller dominated the partnership, reaching his 50. Abbey got to 14 before the partnership, worth 70 runs, was ended when Abbey was bowled with the score on 108. Steve Davies joined Spiller and the pair continued to score freely, reaching the winning score of 142 after 34 overs.
