THE LATEST ROUND of matches in the Powick Crib League, saw The Contenders take top spot in the table after a dominant victory over the Worcester Nomads.
Going into this round, the table saw a three-way tie between the Worcester Nomads, The Contenders and Cross Keys.
However, with The Contenders triumphing 7-2 winners over the Worcester Nomads yesterday (November 6), they have moved into top spot on score difference.
Cross Keys stayed well on the pace, also winning over West Malvern 6-3 and maintaining their high position. West Malvern still sit at the bottom of the table, with no points. However with games-in-hand on all the other sides in the league, they will be hoping they can move up in the near future.
The final game of the round saw a mid-table clash between The New Inn and Country Bumpkins, which saw The New Inn run out winners in a close 5-4 game.
The next round of fixtures will take place next Wednesday (November 13).
