Joe Leach capped off his final season of cricket as Worcestershire's leading wicket taker the Vitality County Championship.

The 33-year-old managed to scoop up an impressive 27 wickets, even amidst a knee injury that threatened his participation in the season finale.

Among these wickets was the remarkable 6-52 in the victory clinched over Kent at Visit Worcestershire New Road.

However, this time around, Leach was not alone on the podium.

He had to share the honour of being leading wicket-taker with New Zealand's Nathan Smith and relative newbie Tom Taylor.

Smith's stint at New Road was unfortunately interrupted by a hamstring injury, but he left his mark, nonetheless.

Taylor managed to consistently take wickets during the latter half of the season, following his return from an injury spell.

He also managed to clock a career best, crafting figures of 6-28 in a home derby fixture with Warwickshire.

The batting accolades predominantly went to Kashif Ali, who was Worcestershire's leading run-scorer with a total of 767, at an impressive average of 42.61.

Within the course of his first full season playing red ball cricket, Ali managed to secure two centuries and five 50s.

Other contributors with the bat were Jake Libby, who pulled in 710 runs, and Gareth Roderick who amassed 695 runs.

Adam Hose with 526 runs and club captain Brett D’Oliveira with a total of 518 runs also managed to pass the 500-run mark.
