WORCESTER NOMADS II v PERSHORE II
WORCESTER Nomads Saturday 2nd XI travelled to Pershore in the 1st Division of the Worcestershire Cricket Board League.
On a weekend when only one other game was played in the division, Nomads gained ground on the teams ahead and are now sit fourth in the table, After a dampening week, Nomads performed well to earn themselves a creditable winning draw.
Nomads were asked to bat on a surprisingly dry wicket and after losing a few early wickets, dug in to set a worthy total.
Finbow and Dixon steadied the ship and scored comfortably through the middle part of the innings. After the loss of Dixon, Finbow was joined at the wicket by Stafford who made a quick 45 with some lusty blows.
A final push from Jack Brain at the end of the 50 overs along with the tiring Finbow (71no) left Nomads on 233-7.
In reply, Pershore were never in the hunt to reach the winning total.
Nomads bowlers pegged back the batsmen as the run rate increased. Two wickets for Ormerod and Lloyd, plus one for Goodreds and Finbow made sure that the points would be secure.
Unfortunately the Pershore batsmen defended well and ended up on 184-6, earning Nomads 14 points from the draw.
