WORCESTER NOMADS U14S V KIDDERMINSTER U14S
LAST season's regional U13 champions from Worcester Nomads commenced their 2007 U14 season with their traditional friendly against Kidderminster.
Kidderminster batted first and Edward Franklyn hit an unbeaten 37, John Rowan 25 and Ryan Field 10 in a total of 100-9 off 20 overs. Nomads pace attack was despatched to the boundary but controlled slow bowling from Peter Preston (4-0-17-2), Patrick O'Driscoll (4-0-11-2) and Neils Emmerson (3-0-11-0) limited Kidderminster's scoring.
Tom Mills (29), James Doorbar (30ret) and Anthony Fahy (11no) led Nomads reply. J Worton took two wickets for four runs but Nomads won, reaching the Kidderminster total in 14 overs with the loss of four wickets.
Four days later the Nomads boys were at home to Dominies in their first county league fixture of the season.
Dominies won the toss and chose to bat. Chris Holtom batted well in difficult conditions for an unbeaten 22 but the other Dominies batsmen found it difficult to score and were all out for 55 in 18 overs. Alex Williams (4-2-3-1) was the pick of the Nomads' attack with both Ben Warren (2.0.10.3) and Peter Preston (4.0.8.3) taking three wickets each.
The Nomads batsmen found the light poor and Assam Fiaz (4-0-13-2) reduced them to 24-2 in the 5th over. However, Alex Williams (17no) and James Doorbar (13) batted out and reached the victory total inside 12 overs.

WORCESTER NOMADS U12s A v MALVERN U12S
WORCESTER Nomads captain Tom Webb won the toss and elected to bat first against Malvern.
Nomads were given a solid start by Jamie Fern and Harry Williams (30ret). The good work was continued by Ali Hunt (30ret), Ben Rattue (13), Tom Webb (25) and Andy Woodyatt (10no).
Nomads finished their 20 overs on 143-4.
Malvern also started well through Kieran Smith and Elliott Hennessy (30ret), but were given little support from their team. All the Nomads bowlers, bowled very tightly with Ryan Gwilliam (1-10), Ben Rattue (1-5) and Harry Williams (2-1) taking the wickets.
Malvern scored 69-5 giving Nomads victory by 74 runs.
MALVERN U11S
MALVERN'S U11s got off to a mixed start to the season last week.
First up they visited the Newland ground to play local rivals Barnards Green in an eight-a-side match. Malvern batted first and made a total of 74 from 16 overs for only four wickets. Will Dovey top scoring with 30.
In reply, the home team started well and were up on the run rate, thanks in part to a large number of wides from the Malvern bowlers. However, wickets from Hill and Pemberton reduced them to 59 off 13 overs but they rallied to 72 off 15.
Needing only three to win off the last over Barnards Green lost two wickets and although they scored seven runs the 10 deducted for the wickets reduced them to 69 and gave Malvern the points.
Two days later Malvern entertained Pershore at Regency Road in an 11-a-side game.
Malvern's bowling was greatly improved with Pemberton, Hennessey and Dovey all taking wickets and the visitors were restricted to 54 from 16 overs.
Malvern's reply started brightly, Robertson hitting 12 before falling to a brilliant caught and bowled by Pershore's George.
All was going well until the 8th over when the wickets of Powell, Robertson, Boden, Dovey Hennessey and Street all fell within the next four overs, and Malvern were reduced to 28-6.
It was left to Hill and Pemberton to try to reach the target but their stoic partnership of 17 was not enough and Malvern closed on a disappointing 45 to give Pershore victory.
