NEWTOWN SPORTS JUNIORS U14s 4, WORCESTER JUNIORS U14S 2
PLAYED in torrential rain and marred by an injury to the Raiders' keeper with two minutes left, Newtown Juniors remain unbeaten but put in a lacklustre performance.
Juniors opened on top but found the Graham in the Raiders' goal in inspired form as he beat and blocked every attempt. Raiders broke away and Price ran unchecked before hitting an unstoppable shot from the edge of the area.
Juniors equalised when Bannister burst through and his initial shot was blocked but he reacted first to nod home.
Raiders played with determination and scored a second, Freeman in the Juniors goal could only watch as a 30-yard volley from Sparkes flew in.
After half-time Juniors pressed relentlessly but found the goal all to elusive until Jack Preece composed himself on the edge of the area and picked his spot with precision.
Watling turned the game with some trickery down the left and neat cross that caused panic leaving Morton to bury the loose ball. Raiders were swamped by wave after wave of attack and Morton scored with a deft header.
A storming run from Parker took him into the area and as keeper and defender converged all three collided. The referee stopped the match, as the keeper needed attention. With two minutes left it was agreed to abandon the match and ensure proper treatment.
Man-of-the-match was Ryan Heeley.
