MALVERN v NETHERTON

MALVERN stumbled to a disappointing five wicket WCL Division Two defeat against Netherton on Saturday.

Malvern batted first and quickly lost Mark Baugh. Andrew Cullen and Ollie Bendall then produced an excellent partnership before Cullen was out for a fine 46. Bendall continued his brutal domination of the bowling before falling for a superb 81.

Rob Francis (21) looked in good form and Jonny Dovey (38) played some superb shots and a lovely little cameo from David Arnold meant Malvern finished on 258.

Netherton paced their reply to perfection, half centuries from Troy Lee and Nigel Davenport were the key to the innings, but Malvern contributed over 53 extras which were a needless bonus for the visitors as Netherton reached their target in the 49th over.
