LIONELS LIONS 0, MORGAN AERO 8 6
MORGAN Aero 8 returned to their winning Malvern League ways with this comfortable win against Ledbury-based Lionels Lions.
The home side were short of a few players and with their goal keeper injured at half-time they had to play the second half with 10 men as they had no substitutes.
Matt Ilsley opened the score in the 14th minute after good work from Richard Bird and James Argent. The home side always looked dangerous on the break and kept up pressure on the visitors defence but with the back four of Russling, Martin Philpotts, Christian Gandar and David Jeynes, Aero kept the scoreline at zero.
It was not until the 30th minute that they increased their lead when Dave Lawrence turned in the box and from an acute angle chipped the ball home. The third was not long in finding the back of the net when a deflection was chalked up as an own goal.
With the side reduced in the second-half, Lions could not muster much of on attack.
Lawrence netted twice to complete another hat-trick, either side of substitute Jordan Miller's first of the season. The goals from Lawrence saw him hit the 50 mark for the season, 37 in the league and 13 in cup matches.
Aero 8 play their last game of the season on Tuesday (May 15) against Dynamo Ledbury at Lower Howsell with a 6.30pm kick-off. All players to be at the ground 6pm.
