After six sets which were all won in three games, the score was 3-3.
The doubles was won by the ‘D’ team in four games, while Bob Rhodes was taken to five games by Liz Hallam, this was followed by Pete Harding beating Tim Dolding to give the ‘D’ team a 5-4 lead.
The whole result hinged on the last set of the evening.

By taking the fifth game, Lythgoe earned a hardfought draw for his team.
