Upton came back from behind in a gritty game against Hereford that saw the physios on the field nearly as much as the players.

On a bright, sunny afternoon at Banwell Park, the match, which finished 28-13 to the home side, was fiercely contested with numerous stoppages for injuries.

Hereford took an early lead, dominating much of the first half with two tries, but failed to convert either.

Upton responded with a converted try, reducing the deficit to three points.

A penalty kick from Hereford completed the first-half scoring, leaving the half-time score at 13-7 in favour of Hereford.

After what must have been a motivational half-time team talk, Upton returned to the field with renewed vigour.

They quickly took the lead with a converted try within minutes of the restart.

Roared on by their home crowd, Upton added two more converted tries, sealing the victory, and rendering Hereford unable to add any points in the second half.

The win marks Upton's fifth consecutive victory, keeping them second in the Counties Three Midlands West (South) table with 24 points.

They are one point behind Bournville II RFC and four points ahead of Dudley Kingswinford RFC.

Upton's next home game is against league rivals Dudley Kingswinford RFC on Saturday (October 19) at 3pm, with a victory putting them in a good position for promotion.
