Triathletes, fitness enthusiasts, and the local community have eagerly anticipated the return of the Upton Triathlon after its temporary absence.
The event, which has gained a reputation for its challenging yet exhilarating course, is set to reclaim its spot as a staple in the local sporting calendar.
The standard distance will consist of a 1.5-kilometer swim in the serene River Severn, followed by a 40-kilometre bike ride through the picturesque Worcestershire countryside, and finally, a 10-kilometre run that winds through the charming streets of Upton.
Participants of all levels are invited to take part, whether as seasoned triathletes aiming to set personal records or newcomers seeking to experience the thrill of their first triathlon.
Meanwhile, the Duathlon will see competitors take on a 2.5km run, a 21.5km bike ride, and a 5km run.
In addition to the triathlon and duathlon there is a Kids’ Fun Run. There will also be a party in the evening for competitors to celebrate their achievements.
Spectators are encouraged to join in the festivities and support the athletes along the route. Cheer zones, entertainment, and local food vendors will be scattered throughout the course, creating an engaging atmosphere for both participants and onlookers.
Registration for the Upton Triathlon opens on September 1, 2023, with early-bird incentives for those who sign up promptly. More information, including registration details, event schedule, and course maps, can be found on the official Upton Triathlon website at www.uptontriathlon.com.
