DOZENS of enthusiasts have been decorating the springs, spouts and other water features of Malvern for this year's well-dressing event.
The well-dressing has become a much-loved feature of the celebrations of spring in the town, drawing in visitors anxious so see the latest creations of the imaginative minds who take part.
The wells are usually dressed and judged on the Friday of the bank holiday weekend. But because of the royal wedding, the dressing was carried out yesterday (Thursday), although the winners will be announced as usual at the Fringe May Day event in Priory Park tomorrow.
There will be minibus tours tomorrow and Bank Holiday Monday at 10.30am and 2.30pm, with tickets available at the TIC in the town centre.
Also tomorrow at 2pm, there will be a walking tour around the town centre water features, with tickets also from the TIC.
On Sunday, there will be a pilgrimage to St Ann's Well led by interfaith minister Rev Val Needham. And Monday will see a druidic blessing at Hay Slad.
The theme of this year's well dressing is Togetherness, taking a nod at the royal wedding, but allowing dressers plenty of room for interpretation.
Lionel Shorstone of the spa association said: "We're doing 41 this year, which is a record. One of the new ones is in the grounds of the Coach House Theatre in Grange Road.
"Another new one, which will take some stamina to get to, is the Dripping Well on the eastern slope of the Beacon, and then there is the site of the Wilson Fountain in Abbey Road."
