THE Malvern branch of the Dame Laura Knight Society is extending an invite to members of the public when they welcome some special guests next weekend.
As part of the visit of the Lamorna Society of Painters, from Friday, May 6, to Sunday, May 8, there will be a series of events, talks and excursions.
Some of the events will be open to non-members to promote interest and provide information on the English impressionist artist who spent many years in and around Malvern, recording scenes of rural life.
The first is an opportunity to meet the artists on Saturday (May 7) at the Mount Pleasant from 3pm, which will be followed by a talk entitled ‘Harold and Laura Knight, a partnership of painters’ in Colwall Village Hall at 6pm priced at £5 for non-members.
On Sunday morning coffee will be available from 10am followed John Croft, the great nephew of Laura Knight and patron of the Society, giving a talk on Laura Knight’s time in the Malverns in Colwall Village Hall at 10.30am. £5 for non-members.
For more information and to book tickets call society chairman Heather Whatley on 01684 561892 or vice-chairman Gywn Klee on 01684 562114.
