A NEW shop unit, coffee shop and pharmacy could be built at Malvern Retail Park.
A planning application has been submitted by the owners of the shopping park, CPG South Ltd, for a new retail unit and a coffee shop next to Marks and Spencers.
In a separate application submitted to Malvern Hills District Council this week, Morrisons is requesting permission for an extension to the supermarket to form a new pharmacy.
The shop unit and coffee shop development would be an extension of the current terrace of retail units that includes Halfords, Next and Matalan. The shop unit and coffee shop would add an additional 2100 square metres of floor space and the plans include changes to the car park to improve traffic flow and add a further 43 parking spaces.
The extension to Morrisons to create the pharmacy would be single storey and add 47 square metres of floor space. The pharmacy would be accessed from inside the supermarket near the main entrance. The planned extension would be brick built with a pitched roof to match the existing supermarket.
