A man seriously injured during an incident in Bushley, near Upton, on April 3 has died in hospital.
Robin Troughton, 59, of Longdon, Gloucestershire, who was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham after the incident, died there on Friday (April 22).
A post mortem examination has taken place and results await further tests. A murder investigation into the death has now been launched.
DI Richard Rees said: “Mr Troughton sadly died in hospital on Friday. A murder investigation has now been launched and enquiries are ongoing.
“Two men remain on bail and I would like to stress we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.”
A man in his 70s and a man in his 50s were arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail while enquiries continue.
