A RE-DEDICATION ceremony of Bromsberrow War Memorial will take place next Saturday (May 7), 90 years after it was originally unveiled.
The memorial has recently been restored and the ceremony will be led by Rev Frank Marriott, chaplain of the Ledbury branch of the Royal British Legion, assisted by Rev Anthony Lomas, recently installed rector of the United Benefice of the Leadon Vale.
Prayers, poems and readings will be read by members of the Bromsberrow community, including children from St Mary's School, who will lay a poppy posy for each man named on the Memorial. The RBL is providing colours and a bugler to sound the Last Post and Reveille.
The service has been planned over several months and involves not only the RBL, church and school but also members of the Bromsberrow Parish Council, the Albright Trust, the Village Hall Committee, the Gardening and Social Club, the History Group, the Short Mat Bowls Club and several residents.
The service is at 11am and will be followed by a reception in Bromsberrow Village Hall.
