A VISITOR from Canada died outside a Malvern pub on Sunday while he was waiting for friends who were walking on the hills.
The man, who has not been named by police, died as he was sitting in the beer garden of the Unicorn pub on Belle Vue Terrace late on Sunday morning, April 17.
His body was discovered by landlady Sue Warrener when she went out to prepare the beer garden for the pub's opening shortly before noon.
She said: "I saw him and immediately we called an ambulance, but there was nothing they could do for him. We put the umbrellas on their sides so that people on Belle Vue Terrace couldn't see him."
Ambulance service spokesman John Hawker confirmed that they received a call at 11.53am. Two rapid-response vehicles were sent to the scene and the man was confirmed dead.
Police were also summoned as the death was initially unexplained, and the beer garden was closed off while investigations took place. However, by mid-afternoon, police were treating the death as non-suspicious.
