HOGAN’S Cider is celebrating even more Stateside success after scooping a host of awards.
The cider producer, which presses and ferments its drinks in Castlemorton, won four awards at the Great Lakes International cider and perry competition in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA.
Hogan’s bottled medium cider, dry cider and vintage perry 2009 all achieved gold medals, with the dry cider also being awarded best in show prize, beating competition from 130 entrants.
Allen Hogan said: “I am delighted that our ciders and perry have been recognised with gold medals at this impressive event, and to be judged Best in Show by one’s fellow cider aficionados is a true accolade.
“This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to the quality of our drinks, which are only created from one hundred per cent fresh pressed English fruit and our dedication to using the time-honoured and traditional method of production.”
All judging was carried out by blind taste-testing panels consisting of both professional and amateur cider and perry makers, academics and other professionals in the food and beverage industry.
The cider producer has also sent a third shipment of beverages across the Atlantic to be distributed in bars and taverns throughout the USA.
