VISITORS to the Malvern Hills over the Easter weekend are being warned to keep their valuables secure after three car break-ins in four days.
On Saturday, April 16, a silver Honda Jazz parked at Gardiner's Quarry, off Jubilee Drive, had its rear window smashed between 11am and noon. A black handbag containing £300 in cash and bank cards was stolen.
On Tuesday, a black Renault Clio parked at Gardiner's Quarry had a window smashed between 10.30am and noon, but nothing was stolen.
The same day, between 12.35pm and 12.55pm, a silver Nissan Micra parked at the Upper Colwall end of Jubilee Drive had its window smashed and a hessian bag containing a purse, bank cards and a mobile phone was stolen.
PC Charles Naylor says: "With the weather getting nicer, many of us decide to make the most of the beautiful countryside. However, thieves also take the opportunity to travel out to the country, visiting remote car parks on the look out for valuables left in vehicles, whether they are locked or not.
"We would urge people to always remove all valuables when they are leaving their cars and only take with them what is absolutely necessary on days out. We would also ask that any valuables should be kept in sight at all times."
