THE stone wall at the front of Malvern Community Hospital is still set to be reduced in height, despite a review.
We reported that Worcestershire County Council planned to shorten the 5ft high wall because it interferes with the visibility of people using the pedestrian crossing across the hospital entrance.
It was understood the wall would have to be reduced to about half a metre and then built back up, and local councillors slammed the “bizarre”
idea as a waste of money.
Coun Clive Smith requested the review and hoped double yellow lines at the entrance would be considered a suitable alternative to altering the wall.
But council spokesman Roz Golds said yesterday: “The independent safety audit has been returned to us and it backs our recommendations.
“It is consistent with our recommendations to introduce a traffic regulation order outside of the hospital and the reduction in height and realignment of the feature wall.”
