MALVERN residents are being urged to let Worcestershire County Council know any roads where motorists and pedestrians are facing pothole perils.
The council’s latest budget has made an extra £3 million of funding available to repair potholes following another freezing winter.
More than 33,000 potholes have been filled in the last year, but the council says that only about 40 per cent of known potholes are reported by the public.
It wants people to let it know exactly where the problems are so that they can be dealt with more quickly and efficiently.
Customer and community manager Jon Fraser said: “We have a number of gangs and motorbike inspectors out and about on the roads, checking for defects, however, given the amount of road in Worcestershire, we rely heavily on members of the public letting us know about any potholes they may come across.”
Potholes can be reported by filling out an online form at worcestershire.gov.uk/reportaproblem, calling in at a local customer contact centre or calling the Worcestershire Hub on 01905 765765.
The council plans to publish details of exactly where the extra funding has been spent on its website by the end of September.
