A SINGER from Malvern with a following in the Far East has launched a charity single in aid of victims of the Japan earthquake.

Jemma Pixie Hixon, aged 20, has build up an Asian following thanks to the power of websites such as YouTube.

She has fans in China and Japan, has sung on TV and at celebrity dinner events, and can be seen at youtube.com/jemmahixon.

She said: "Some singers including myself pulled together a list of female artists from all over the country to combine our vocal talents to raise money for Japan Relief."

The song, entitled One in a Million, is now available from I-Tunes.

"I would love to be able to promote this single and get people in Malvern and Worcestershire to support this charity effort by purchasing the single online, all proceeds will go to Japan. It would mean so much to me," she said.

"Anything we can do to help this devastating event and help restore the lives of those affected makes all the difference. All of the money will be going to the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund.

"I am so pleased that I am able take part in this charity single to raise money for Japan. I have many supporters in Japan, some of whom were affected by the earthquake, and I was so deeply saddened to wake up to the tragic news," she said.

"I have personal friends who still haven’t heard from their families over in Japan yet. To see so many female artists from YouTube pull together for this single is really quite special. We all love music, and if we can help even in the slightest by making this song, it would be truly amazing. My thoughts go out to all that have been affected by the tragic event."
