YOUNG apprentices will be building a miniature bungalow at Malvern Link over the Easter holiday.
The building project, at Worcestershire College of Technology's construction centre on Spring Lane, forms part of the Young Apprenticeship programme, aimed at students aged 14 to 16 working towards the BTEC First Diploma in Construction.
The course combines theory and practical studies and an integral part of the qualification requires them to complete 50 days' work experience.
The Build a Bungalow Project is designed to enable students to experience every aspect of a construction project from design, costing and planning to the actual build.
The project starts on Monday, April 11, and the students have eight days to complete the bungalows. At the end, employers, parents, schools, governors and businesses are invited to a presentation where students receive certificates and prizes.
