A BLAZE in a farmyard at Earl's Croome threatened the main house before fire fighters managed to bring it under control.
A crew from Upton, two from Worcester and one from Evesham were sent out to a farm in Worcester Road at about 7.30pm on Wednesday, April 6, following reports of a woodpile on fire.
The fire is thought to have started in an incinerator, from which flames spread to nearby logs.
At the height of the incident, six firefighters in breathing apparatus were deployed and one hose reel, a compressed-air foam system and a thermal imaging camera were used. It was brought under control by around 10.20pm.
Station Commander Bob Sproat said: “The fire involved a large quantity of wood and had spread to adjacent outbuildings, with the risk of further spread to the main farm house.”
He reminded anyone with an incinerator to check that all flammable materials are moved well away before use.
