ONE day back in 1950, a young man and a young woman met in Worcester Road, just outside the Link railway station.
On Thursday, March 31, Roy and Evelyn Harris celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.
Mr Harris was born in Bromyard, but his family moved to Malvern Link when he was two - to the house that the couple still live in.
His wife-to-be was born in Overbury, on the slopes of Bredon Hill, but again her family moved to Malvern.
Mrs Harris said: "I was taking my sister's baby out for a walk and we met in the street and just started talking.
The couple were married on March 31, 1951. Mr Harris worked as an engineer for the General Post Office, which became BT by the time he retired many years later, and Mrs Harris worked at Sharps Ironmongers in the Link, though she left to raise their family.
They have three sons, Kevin, Martin and Robert, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
They celebrated their anniversary at the weekend with family members and friends.
